Sourav Ganguly, the former BCCI President, and legendary cricketer, recently named five players who he believes have the potential to be the future stars of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In his list of top picks, Ganguly has included four batters and one fast bowler, who he believes will significantly impact the upcoming seasons.
Ganguly’s top three selections include two Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise players. He has named Prithvi Shaw, the young opening batsman who has shown exceptional performance in the previous season, his top pick. Further, he has chosen Rishabh Pant and Ruturaj Gaikwad as his second and third choices, respectively, both of whom have proven their worth as impactful batsmen in the IPL.
Ganguly also hailed Suryakumar Yadav, the world’s number-one T20I batter, as the best in the format. However, he clarified that Yadav no longer falls under the category of youngsters, as he has already made his mark in the IPL.
In addition to the batters, Ganguly also identified Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fast bowler Umran Malik as his fourth pick. The young fast bowler has shown tremendous potential with his ability to generate pace and swing the ball, and Ganguly believes that he has a bright future in the IPL.
