Faf Du Plessis created history during the IPL 2023 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as he smashed the longest six of the tournament. The match occurred at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, and Du Plessis stunned everyone with his incredible hitting prowess.

During the 15th over of the RCB innings, Du Plessis, who was leading the team as captain, took on the young wrist spinner Ravi Bishnoi of LSG. Bishnoi bowled a short delivery, but unfortunately, he missed his line, and Du Plessis quickly pounced on the opportunity. With immense power and timing, Du Plessis dispatched the ball toward the cow-corner region with a monstrous hit that left everyone in awe.

Talking about the match, LSG won the toss and elected to bowl. RCB, batting first, displayed a commanding performance, scoring 212 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The batting excellence of Virat Kohli, Faf Du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell was on full display. Virat scored 61 off 44 balls, Captain Faf scored 79* runs off 46 balls, and Maxwell scored 59 runs off 29 balls for RCB.
