The AIFF released the Kalinga Super Cup 2024, its groupings and participating teams. The event, which will feature 12 teams from the Indian Super League (ISL) and four from the I-League, is set to take place in Odisha from January 9 to 28, 2024.
The participating teams have been precisely sorted into four clusters, with each group maintaining an array of teams from both the ISL and the I-League. The inclusion of three ISL powerhouses with one I-League challenger in each group is a gripping characteristic of the groupings.
The format dictates a thrilling round-robin stage, wherein each team engages in intense encounters within their group. The quest for supremacy and a coveted spot in the semi-finals drives these teams to vie fiercely for the top spot in their respective groups. As the tournament progresses, the top-ranked team from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
The Kalinga Super Cup 2024 will reach its conclusion with a grand finale on January 28, 2024. Aside from lifting the tournament trophy, the winning team in this pivotal clash will also gain an illustrious ticket to the 2024-25 AFC Champions League 2.
