The Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru witnessed a nail-biting finale as the Indian football team emerged victorious, clinching the SAF Championship Cup 2023 title. In a highly intense final match against Kuwait, India secured a thrilling win in a sudden-death penalty shootout.

Right from the kick-off, both teams displayed their skills and tactics, vying for dominance in the championship. Kuwait’s Shabaib Al Khaldi made an early breakthrough, scoring a goal in the 14th minute, setting the stage for an intense battle. However, India’s Lallianzuala Chhangte equalized in the 39th minute, showcasing his prowess and leveling the scoreline at 1-1 as the first half drew close.

The second half continued with both teams playing the attacking game. Despite their best efforts, neither side could find a decisive goal in regular time, leading the match into extra time. Both teams displayed great defensive resilience as the pressure mounted, resulting in a goalless extra time. With the score still level, the match progressed into a penalty shootout.
