Coach Igor Stimac Announced India’s Squad For Intercontinental Cup and SAFF Championship

The Indian football squad for the upcoming Hero Intercontinental Cup and SAFF Championship has been announced by senior Indian Men’s National Football Team head coach Igor Stimac. The Hero Intercontinental Cup, scheduled from 9th June to 18, promises to be a thrilling contest where the Indian team will lock horns with formidable opponents worldwide.

Following the Intercontinental Cup, the Indian team will shift their focus to the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship, set from the 21st June to the 4th July. The SAFF Championship allows India to dominate the South Asian region and assert their footballing prowess.

The path to forming the ultimate squad began on 16th May in Bhubaneswar, as 40 talented players converged for an intensive training camp. Following accurate assessments of their performances during rigorous training sessions and practice matches, the coaching staff faced the challenge of selecting the final 27 players who have proven themselves worthy of representing the nation.
