Delhi SG Pipers, the capital’s hockey team, is expected to make a significant impact in the Hockey India League (HIL). Owned by Mahesh Bhupathi’s SG Sports, the team has both men’s and women’s squads. Shamsher Singh will captain the men’s team, with Australian player Jacob Whetton and brilliant Navneet Kaur will lead the women’s team.
The coaching lineup features some of the best in the business, with Australian stalwart Graham Reid guiding the men and former Dutch player Dave Smolenaars steering the women. In a significant boost to the franchise, veteran Indian goalkeeper P. R. Sreejesh has joined as director of both teams, bringing years of experience and vision to the team’s management.
