The second season of the South Africa T20 League, SA20, is set to start on January 10, 2024. SA20, known for its scintillating brand of T20 cricket, will feature a total of 34 matches. The tournament dates span from January 10, 2024, to February 10, 2024. The SA20 tournament will begin with a high-voltage opening match where defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape will face off against Joburg Super Kings.
One of the fascinating aspects of SA20 is scheduling the final week’s fixtures, which overlaps with South Africa’s Test series against New Zealand. The Test series starts on February 4, so significant players will miss the first test matches.
This season will witness an introduction of IPL-style Playoffs, which will increase the excitement in SA20. Including two Qualifiers and an Eliminator in the Playoffs will increase competition and heighten interest. The league stage of SA20 will adopt a round-robin format, where each team will face every other team twice – once in a home fixture and once in an away match.
