The ICC has taken strict action against Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur. This decision was taken by her display of anger during the third ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka. In the match, Harmanpreet got furious with the umpire’s wrong decision, leading to her dismissal, and she broke the stump with her bat. Not only that, but she also used inappropriate language against the umpire.
After the game, she blamed the umpire for favoring Bangladesh while both teams were posing with the trophy, which drew severe criticism. As a result of her actions, the ICC has banned Harmanpreet Kaur from the next two international matches and imposed a Level 2 punishment on her.
Additionally, she must pay a fine of 50 percent of her match fee. Furthermore, the Indian captain will also face a 25 percent fine for publicly criticizing the umpires. These strict measures will significantly impact her participation in crucial upcoming tournaments.

One of the significant consequences of this ban is that Harmanpreet Kaur cannot represent India in the knockout matches of the Asian Games in China. If India reaches the final, she will only be allowed to participate in that match. This suspension and fine serve as a strong message from the ICC about maintaining sportsmanship and respecting the game’s rules and officials.
