Australia Clinches Thrilling Victory at Lord’s in Second Ashes Test
Australia defeated England by 43 runs in the second Test of the Ashes series at Lord’s. As the final day began, England was on a challenging chase of 371 runs to secure victory.
At one point, England skipper Ben Stokes battled alone to defeat Australia, but he could not take his team to victory.
Stokes showcased his batting prowess with an outstanding innings of 155 runs off 214 balls, featuring an impressive nine fours and nine sixes. He received crucial support from Ben Duckett, who contributed a well-crafted 83 runs off 112 deliveries.
The highlight of the English innings was a remarkable 108-run partnership between Stokes and Stuart Broad for the seventh wicket. However, their valiant efforts eventually stopped when Josh Hazlewood dismissed Stokes.
