Lord’s Test between England and Australia witnessed a moment of intense controversy. England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow’s dismissal on the fifth day of the second test match of the Ashes sparked debate.
The controversial dismissal happened during the 4th innings, 52nd over bowled by Cameron Green. As the last ball of the over, Bairstow decided to leave the delivery, and the ball went towards the wicketkeeper, Alex Carey, who instinctively caught it. Sensing an opportunity, Carey swiftly aimed for the stumps as Bairstow had strayed out of his crease, assuming the over had concluded.
The Australian players erupted in an appeal, leaving the final decision in the hands of the third umpire. The third umpire checked out the footage. After a careful examination, the third umpire declared Bairstow out. Australia dismissed Bairstow in an unacceptable manner of cricket. Following his wicket, Bairstow argues with the Australian players, as seen on video.

Australia Clinches Thrilling Victory at Lord’s in Second Ashes Test
Australia defeated England by 43 runs in the second Test of the Ashes series at Lord’s. As the final day began, England was on a challenging chase of 371 runs to secure victory.
At one point, England skipper Ben Stokes battled alone to defeat Australia, but he could not take his team to victory.
Stokes showcased his batting prowess with an outstanding innings of 155 runs off 214 balls, featuring an impressive nine fours and nine sixes. He received crucial support from Ben Duckett, who contributed a well-crafted 83 runs off 112 deliveries.
The highlight of the English innings was a remarkable 108-run partnership between Stokes and Stuart Broad for the seventh wicket. However, their valiant efforts eventually stopped when Josh Hazlewood dismissed Stokes.
Australia’s victory owed much to the collective brilliance of their bowling unit. Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Starc played instrumental roles, claiming three wickets to dismantle the English batting lineup. Australia lead the Ashes Test series 2-0 with the win in the second Test.
