Argentina has secured first place in the latest FIFA ranking, returning to the top spot after six years. Despite winning the World Cup in Qatar, Argentina could not clinch first place in the rankings.
The ranking remained unchanged for Argentina as they won two matches in the Qatar World Cup through penalty shootouts. However, their consistent performance in recent tournaments and matches has propelled them to the coveted first position in the FIFA ranking.
2022 FIFA World Cup runner-up France secured second in the rankings, closely followed by Brazil at third. Argentina’s rise to first place in the FIFA rankings is significant because they return to the top spot after a gap of six years.
Not only Argentina but other countries have also seen changes in their rankings. India, for instance, has made a significant jump in the rankings. After winning a recent tri-nation tournament, India has moved up from 106th position to 101st in the FIFA ranking.
